Born and raised in Oxford, Eddie first moved to Cardiff in 2018 to study under the tutelage of Huw Warren before graduating from Cardiff University. Having “already garnered comparisons with the greats” (Jazzwise) after the release of his debut album ‘Home’, pianist Eddie Gripper has rapidly established himself as a young contender on the national jazz circuit. He has worked as a performer, promoter and producer alongside top musicians in his field such as Nigel Price, Simon Spillett, Pete Long, Alex Clarke, Yuri Golubev and Iain Ballamy.
As a composer, he has collaborated with vocalist Elijah Jeffery, releasing a self-titled album in 2025, songs that explore the intersections of jazz, singer-songwriter classical and folk traditions.
