News March 2015
Wychwood Youth Club held a presentation to thank Beth Smith for supporting Wychwood Youth Club as the Youth Leader over the past 3 years. Beth decided to step down from the role at the end of 2014 and we really did appreciate everything she contributed to the youth club. We have now successfully recruited a new Youth Leader. Rosie Gallagher has been volunteering most weeks this year but commences on 13 April as the new official Youth Leader, we are delighted and wish her well in this role.
As the lighter evenings are on the way Wychwood Youth Club have exciting and varied activities which will be extended to the recreation ground and play area as well as in the New Beaconsfield Hall. New members aged 9 – 13 are always welcome and are encouraged to come for a free trial any Monday 7pm during term time before becoming a full member. WYC commences after the Easter break on 13th April.
Volunteering opportunities for Duke of Edinburgh students
WYC welcomes D of E students who are looking for volunteering experience to complete their awards. Contact Jenny Leyland or come to the New Beaconsfield Hall at 7pm any Monday during term time to introduce yourself and find out more about this exciting opportunity.
Over 18? Why not join our team of Adult Volunteers?
We would like another person to join our team of adult volunteers. The adults support our Youth Leader with activities and help the DoE students serve refreshments. Could you volunteer for just 1 session 7pm-8.30pm every 4 months, or more if you wish? Please contact Jenny Leyland to discuss this if you would like to help. A rota is distributed well in advance for you to plan ahead.
WYC is partnered with Oxfordshire Youth www.oxfordshireyouth.org
