GWR will again be providing some Saturday Christmas shopping trains calling at Ascott station for the next three weekends.
As the eastbound train is not until just after 10am, reaching Paddington at 11.29, a trip to London will be rather abbreviated, should anyone want to go there, but anyone going into Oxford will have plenty of time. There will be two options to get back to Ascott.
An off-peak day return to Oxford is £8.10 and £4.05 for children aged under-16, with discounts available for holders of the Cotswold Line Railcard or the Network Railcard.
A super off-peak return to Paddington is £36.50 (£18.25 for children aged under-16), with discounts available for Network Railcard holders.
Groupsave fares for three or more adults travelling together are also available.
The details of the trains are as follows:
The extra calls will be provided on the following Saturdays: November 30, December 7 and December 14.
The 08.43 departure from Great Malvern will call at Ascott at 10.02, arriving at Oxford at 10.31, Reading at 10.57 and London Paddington at 11.29.
Return journeys are provided by two trains:
The 13.22 from Paddington to Great Malvern, leaving Reading at 13.53 and Oxford at 14.23, will call at Ascott at 14.45.
The 15.22 from Paddington to Great Malvern, leaving Reading at 15.53 and Oxford at 16.23, will call at Ascott at 16.45.
